Novatek CEO: Works on Arctic LNG 2 become more difficult

MOSCOW, Apr 21 (PRIME) -- The current challenges have complicated successful fulfillment of the Arctic LNG 2 liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, and Novatek is looking for new approaches to financing, CEO Leonid Mikhelson said on Thursday.

"Construction of Arctic LNG 2, the second large-scale project of the company, is currently our main priority. The current challenges have made conditions for successful fulfillment of our project more difficult. Novatek is doing its best to launch Arctic LNG 2 and is forming new approaches to financing of the project," Mikhelson said.

The CEO also said that Novatek fulfills its gas supply liabilities scrupulously, and the shipments and payments for liquid hydrocarbon supplies of Novatek are made without interruptions.
